About this activity

In this improv workshop, your office team will learn to listen, contribute, and commit to one another as they Zip-Zap-Zop their way through the day. Whether you are looking to polish presentation skills, enhance communication, initiative, and flexibility, or foster trust, this workshop is for you. Plus, even those new to improv will be excited to jump straight into the action! This stuff is so FUN, the participants will leave feeling like they’ve had the best cup of coffee and gone to the gym for their brains.

About Jen

Jen Oleniczak Brown believes that every person would personally and professionally benefit from trying at least one improv class. As the Founder of The Engaging Educator, she's taught over 25,000 students over 5 years through interactive workshops that make participants think more about their communication and social skills. She truly enjoys motivating a group of individuals and connecting with them through activities and conversation.

I had an incredible time learning from you over the past 8 weeks. I am sad that the course has come to an end – Wednesdays were the highlight of my week! In a short time, you have made a major impact in my presenting, confidence level, and career as a whole. I used some of your tips and skills from class during a recent panel that I spoke on and it was a great success!

What to expect

Improv is really just listening and responding. But even though we all communicate each day, that’s no guarantee we’re good at it! This workshop is structured in a way that forces participants to listen and respond in ways they never have before.

  1. Introduction to improv and its relationship to communication
  2. Fun, participatory games including: “Zip Zap Zop”, “You see, I see,” “Yes, AND…” and more!
  3. Reflection and takeaways
Benefits
  • Start actively listening
  • Gain crucial communication skills
  • Become more self-aware
  • Laugh away your office issues
  • Bond with your coworkers
  • Loosen up!
You'll need to provide

For this workshop, a room with space to move around is needed.

Even people who’ve never done improv will enjoy this session!

What a great Enrichment! I had a blast and learned so much! It was very refreshing. I especially loved that how she said so often that she prepared so much, that her spontaneity was anything but chance.

Jen presented an impressive range of interpretive techniques to our performer/facilitator staff at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. She combined a fun, interactive approach with solid content and intriguing anecdotes to bring the session to life. Rare is the trainer who can engage performers of variable skill level successfully!

It offered a much needed focus on the subtleties of presentation and the skills borrowed from the world of performance that we could adapt to gallery teaching.
